This show boldly goes where no dance has gone before…
We wanted to engage intimate zones - our orifices, genitals, bodies and sexuality, to make them sublime spaces.
Our vector of choice is ‘image’ in the broad sense of the word, with the composition of plastic and visual situations forming a succession of bodyscapes.
This performance creates fantasies from our bodies in which genders become indistinct and lose their boundaries, orifices glow, bodies resolutely radiate and anuses perform.
Our layout is different, we move and we create flowing groups of bodies, we sexualise and we de-sexualise. In doing so we consider sexuality less ‘instinctive’ than cultural, an interpersonal and political process: a game, a constructive and deconstructive dynamic.
By crossing the boundaries of what generally relates to the intimate, the show specifically questions a political geography of the body, and the relationships of norms and power that it vehicles.
